The SIIA Jesse H. Neal Awards recognize journalistic and editorial excellence across industries. Lexipol’s FireRescue1, led by Janelle Foskett, editor-in-chief, is a finalist for Best Website. Police1’s “State Your Case” column, written by Jim Dudley and Joel Shults, achieved finalist for Best Column/Blog. “‘Modern Day Rosies’: How one paramedic channeled her pandemic emotions into a tribute to female essential workers,” an in-depth human interest story by Rachel Engel, senior associate editor, was nominated for best profile. Finally, EMS1 was named a finalist in Best Column/Blog for Greg Friese’s “From the Editorial Director” column.
The ASBPE Azbee Awards acknowledge professional publications for high-quality reporting, editing and design. Lexipol’s EMS1 was recognized as a regional and national finalist in the Online State of the Industry Category for the 2021 EMS Trend Report, a project led by Kerri Hatt, editor-in-chief.
