A Calling to Serve, Beyond Retirement

For Neil Gang, a life dedicated to public safety didn’t end when he retired. “I wanted to find a way to continue serving the first responder community,” he says, “and Lexipol provided the perfect opportunity to do that.” Neil first connected with Lexipol in 2019 through his work in wellness initiatives, drawn to the company’s mission of equipping first responders with essential resources and support. Having served in leadership roles at agencies that utilized Lexipol’s solutions, Neil has experienced firsthand the value these tools bring to public safety professionals. Now, as a Market Ambassador, he is in a unique position—not only as a former customer but also as someone who now contributes to the development of these resources. His experience on both sides gives him a deep understanding of how agencies can best utilize Lexipol’s solutions to enhance training, policies and wellness programs.

Leadership Defined by Purpose

For Neil Gang, leadership isn’t just about policies and procedures—it’s about prioritizing people. This perspective was shaped by a tragic turning point in his career: the loss of his friend and colleague, Asher Rosinsky, to suicide. That moment left a lasting impact, driving Neil to develop the ASHER Model, a framework designed to place the well-being of public safety personnel at the forefront. “When we needed leadership the most, it was absent,” Neil recalls. “That day changed me. I knew that when I became a leader, I had to do things differently. We must prioritize our people—not just for the job, but for their lives beyond it.” “As leaders, how we lead impacts how people live.” The effects of leadership extend far beyond the workplace. Poor leadership doesn’t just disrupt morale—it follows first responders home, influences their mental health, and impacts their families. For Neil, leadership is about fostering a culture where officers feel valued, supported and empowered to not only serve their communities but also take care of themselves.
