Lexipol, the leader in policy, training and wellness support for public safety and government leaders, announced today that the company and its media sites received three 2024 SIIA Jesse H. Neal Awards for innovative business journalism.
Lexipol was honored in the Best New Product category for First Responder Wellness Week. Now in its second year, Lexipol created this week-long event to enhance the mental and physical well-being of first responders across the nation. Throughout the week, the Lexipol team curated a program of webinars, blog articles and other programming addressing the unique challenges and needs of those in police, fire, dispatch, EMS and corrections careers.
Additionally, the Lexipol Media Group took honors in the following categories:
- Police1: Best Subject-Related Package. To counter the continuing peril of on-campus gun violence, Police1 published comprehensive coverage of strategies to help prevent and stop school shootings, running the gamut from preparation, threat assessment, communications and response strategies.
- FireRescue1: Best Range of Work by a Media Brand. In furthering its mission to provide high-quality resources to help firefighters protect their communities and get home safe, FireRescue1 elevates the conversation about important topics including fire strategy, product innovations, career development and recruiting and retention.
“We’re proud of the amazing content continually being published by our team on FireRescue1, Police1, EMS1, Corrections1 and Gov1,” said Lexipol Media Group President Rob Schneider. “While three specific efforts were singled out for distinction, we see consistent excellence across the board with these industry-leading media sites.”
At the same time, Janelle Foskett, FireRescue1’s editor-in-chief, was presented the prestigious Marianne Dekker Mattera Mentor Award for her unwavering commitment to developing and encouraging the next generation of editorial leaders.
Sponsored by SIIA, the voice of the specialized information industry, the Neal Awards recognize journalistic and editorial excellence across industries. The program is named for Jesse H. Neal, who served as the first managing director of American Business Media. Now in their 70th year, these recognitions acknowledge outstanding performance in industry-specific media. This year’s Neal Award winners were announced at a luncheon ceremony in New York City on April 26.
Lexipol Media Group’s industry news sites — Police1, FireRescue1, EMS1, Corrections1 and Gov1 — are the leading online news and information resource for public safety professionals and local government officials across the United States.
