Lexipol, the leading provider of solutions that support total readiness in public safety, will mark First Responder Wellness Week March 23 to 27, 2026. Now in its fourth year, the annual event brings agencies and personnel together around a shared commitment to strengthening health and readiness across the public safety profession.
First responders face constant physical demands, cumulative stress, and repeated exposure to trauma, all while operating in environments that leave little room for recovery. First Responder Wellness Week was created to meet those realities head-on by offering practical resources developed by experienced wellness professionals, helping agencies embed wellness into daily operations rather than placing the burden on individuals.
This year’s theme, “Total Wellness. True Readiness.” reinforces the idea that readiness is built long before the call comes in. When agencies support the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of their people, they strengthen performance and resilience across the entire organization.
“True readiness starts with people,” says Dr. Jaime Brower, Lexipol’s vice president of wellness. “Wellness is not a standalone initiative; it is something agencies must intentionally build into their culture. First Responder Wellness Week gives agencies realistic, actionable ways to do that, no matter their size or resources.”
Each day of First Responder Wellness Week will focus on a different dimension of wellness, beginning with physical readiness and recovery, moving through daily habits that sustain health, leadership’s role in shaping wellness culture, and the systems that support long-term well-being. The week concludes with a focus on healthy connections, highlighting the importance of peer support, family and community in sustaining first responders over the course of their careers.
Throughout the week, Lexipol will offer live webinars, short videos, articles, and downloadable resources designed to work within the realities of 24/7 operations. Agencies can participate at their own pace, using the materials that best fit their staffing, schedules and culture, while reinforcing wellness conversations that extend well beyond the week itself.
Bill Nunan, CEO of Lexipol, says the growth of First Responder Wellness Week reflects a broader shift in how agencies are thinking about readiness. “We continue to see leaders recognize that wellness and readiness are inseparable,” Nunan says. “Agencies that invest in their people are better prepared to serve their communities, manage risk, and retain strong teams. First Responder Wellness Week is about giving agencies the tools to turn that understanding into action.”
Participation in First Responder Wellness Week has grown steadily each year. In 2025, more than 100,000 first responders engaged with the week’s content, using the free resources to spark conversations, support personnel, and strengthen existing wellness efforts. Lexipol was encouraged to see agencies of all sizes take what they learned during the week and apply it in meaningful ways long after the final session ended.
In 2026, Lexipol looks forward to building on that momentum by reaching even more agencies and reinforcing that wellness is not an add-on, but a core component of operational readiness.
