Police1 Editor-in-Chief Wins Editorial Leadership Award

Nancy Perry, Editor-in-Chief of Lexipol’s Police1, was honored with the prestigious G.D. Crain Award in the 2022 Jesse H. Neal Awards. This lifetime achievement award recognizes one distinguished editorial leader each year who has made outstanding contributions to the industry they cover through editorial excellence over the course of their career.

“My passion for serving public safety professionals through high-quality journalism and editorial content has persisted throughout my career, and it is a true honor to receive this award,” Perry says. “To be considered in the same class of such a prestigious list of past winners is a privilege and a joy.”

Perry has had a significant and enduring impact on two distinct—and different—public safety markets. After two decades of creating and improving EMS print, digital and event products, Perry took on the task of improving the news coverage, growing the range of editorial content and expanding the readership of Police1, the leading industry news site for law enforcement leaders and professionals. She sets the editorial direction for Police1 and ensures she and the team have a deep understanding of law enforcement industry trends, audiences, products and topic research. Each year she also manages dozens of expert contributors and leads the execution of special coverage projects, editorial webinars and the Policing Matters podcast.

“Lexipol is proud of Nancy’s incredible work and editorial career,” Lexipol Editorial Director Greg Friese said. “Her expertise, vision and insight have provided strong direction for Police1 and helped many writers, editors and industry authors develop an effective voice.”

The G.D. Crain Award was presented to Perry on April 26, 2022, at the annual Jesse H. Neal Awards Ceremony in New York.
