Lexipol’s Greg Friese Inducted into Inaugural FOLIO: Hall of Fame

by | October 2, 2025

Lexipol is proud to announce that Greg Friese, editorial director for Lexipol Media Group, has been named to the inaugural FOLIO Hall of Fame. This landmark recognition honors 53 visionary leaders whose careers have shaped the direction, innovation, and future of publishing across the country.

As part of this first-ever Hall of Fame class, Friese stands alongside some of the most influential names in magazine and digital media. His induction reflects his achievements in public safety journalism and his dedication to helping first responders access the tools and knowledge they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

“It will remain essential to deliver accurate, relevant, and actionable information to police officers, firefighters, and paramedics,” Friese says. “The format of digital publishing will continue to evolve, likely shifting further from text-based articles toward more video and interactive content. We will also leverage AI, but what will always matter most is providing information that helps our audience do their jobs more safely and effectively, protecting themselves and the communities they serve.”

Throughout his career, Friese has set the standard for editorial excellence and innovation in public safety media. Under his leadership, Lexipol Media Group’s publications, Police1, FireRescue1, EMS1 and Corrections1, have become trusted sources for training, professional development and industry news. His ability to anticipate trends and adapt to the changing media landscape has consistently elevated the impact of Lexipol’s editorial voice.

To those looking to follow in his footsteps, Friese offers straightforward advice: “Do the work. Write, be active on social media, create videos, appear on podcasts and get involved in webinars. There are more opportunities than ever to share what you’re learning, connect with experts and learn from others. The key is to show up consistently until you get noticed. Just as important, don’t get stuck chasing perfection; at some point you have to hit publish, ship your work, and move on to the next project.”

In reflecting on this honor, Friese credits the people who have supported him along the way: “I’ve been fortunate to work with people who encourage me, challenge me to do my best and continue to give me opportunities. I’m grateful for them. I’m also thankful for the readers, listeners, and viewers who have let me know the content was useful in their work to serve their communities.”

“Greg’s commitment to high-quality, credible content has made a lasting impact not just at Lexipol, but across the entire public safety landscape,” says Rob Schneider, president of Lexipol Media Group. “This Hall of Fame recognition is a powerful testament to Greg’s leadership, influence, and the value he brings to those who protect our communities every day.”

This latest honor builds on Greg’s 2024 recognition as Editorial Director of the Year and reflects a career devoted to excellence in journalism and service to the public safety community. His leadership continues to shape how public safety professionals access critical information, stay current on best practices, and find inspiration in the work they do every day.
